Emergency Winter Shelter
Emergency Shelter Metro Social Services will open at 32 Degrees on an emergency basis when the temperature falls at or below 32 Degrees for three (3) consecutive hours as a pilot based on capacity and funding allocations.
Hours & Services: The shelter will open for 12 hours starting at 7:00 pm. They have hot meals and showers. The shelter closes at 7:00 am the next morning.
Group Space: Everyone will sleep in 1 large room. Mats will be 6 feet apart.
Pets: Dogs are welcome. The shelter has kennels. Transportation will require pets to be in a kennel while transporting.
Operations: Metro will activate its overflow cold weather shelter and admit unsheltered individuals to fill gaps in the local shelter system. The operating decision shall be made by Noon (12:00pm) the day prior.
Who: Single men, women, couples, young adults, people on the registry, people with pets.

Overflow Only: Access to long-term shelter is available and should be utilized prior to accessing the overflow shelter. Social distancing and mask may be required.
Getting There
Parking: You can park at the shelter if you drive.
From Downtown: Bus line #23B goes to the shelter. You can ride for free, starting at 7:00pm, if you get on the bus downtown at WeGo Central (400 Charlotte Ave). Upon departing shelter, you will be given a bus pass that will be good for 4 hours. All animals must be crated. Volunteers have crates at WeGo. Due to an internal capacity issue, participants are asked to arrive early and board the bus swiftly.

Nashville Rescue Mission is open for guests to find overnight shelter.
Room In The Inn’s day center is open Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm (April-October), with lunch served at noon. Services include showers, laundry, meal programs, educational opportunities, and resource navigation.
Families:
Teenagers:
Youth (18-24 years old) and LGBTQIA+ friendly
- Kennels for dogs are available.
- Nashville Rescue Mission has day shelter during cold and inclement weather.
- Nashville Rescue Mission will lift a suspension if you have a non-violent offense.
- You can call (615) 255-2475 to check if your suspension status is able to be lifted.

- Beginning November 1, the day center will have extended hours, Monday – Friday, 6am – 3pm, with lunch at noon and Saturday – Sunday, 6a – 8a.

- Individuals with complicated backgrounds or barriers are welcome to utilize services at Room In The Inn.
Families:
- Families can call (615) 862-6444. Metro may help you find a place. Metro works with the Salvation Army and Safe Haven. These programs are not for immediate shelter but for longer range housing. (The place for immediate shelter is the Mission.)
Teenagers:
