The Marketing + Communications Intern will support the efforts of the External Relations team. Throughout your internship, you can expect to be involved in efforts around marketing campaigns, donor engagement, database management, research, and analytics. You will be a member of the team and will work on projects to support the short-term goals as well as a long-term strategy for the organization.
This internship is a great opportunity to be part of a small growing organization and have a direct impact through storytelling, content creation, donor relations, and fundraising events.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Support donor communications, including preparation of gift acknowledgments.
- Assist with communications campaigns from creation to execution (social media & email)
- Research corporate sponsorship opportunities, grants, and matching gift opportunities
- Create funder profiles and meeting-prep biographies
- Assist with database maintenance and clean-up
- Assist with updating the website, non-profit sites, and volunteer signups
- Provide other administrative assistance to the Communications & Development department, as needed
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You support the work, mission, and values of People Loving Nashville
- Currently enrolled in a degree-granting program preferably in the following fields: Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media, Non-Profit Development, communications-related degrees, or interested in further developing a comprehensive understanding of organizational communications in a small service non-profit setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with best practices on social media platforms
- Ability and enthusiasm to quickly learn and process information
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs and priorities of a direct service non-profit
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail; you’re proactive and self-motivated
