We exist to share love and dignity to those experiencing homelessness in Nashville.
We do this by providing relief, community, connection, and restoration.
People Loving Nashville was established in 2008 when a group of friends shared several hot meals with some individuals living on the streets on a cold Thanksgiving night. The experience changed something in them, and they continued to bring supper downtown once a month. Once a month soon turned into a weekly tradition. From a two-burner stove in a bachelor pad to a commercially-outfitted kitchen at church, we have continued to grow and expand, learning and maturing along the way, all against the backdrop of friendship.
Our skilled staff and trained volunteers seek to form relationships that bring a Christ-centered, evidence-based pathway to sustainable hope, healing, and restoration. We begin the process by assembling meals, preparing clothing and supplies for distribution to hundreds, and provide emergency response to serve the suffering of our city in public spaces, low-income apartment complexes, homeless camps, and more, every weekday.
“It all started with a little two-burner stove.”
4 Pillars Of Sustainable Impact
Relief
-
We offer meals, clothing, survival supplies, and resource navigation to the unhoused and those most at-risk in Nashville.
Whether someone needs a warm coat, a safe meal, or guidance toward housing and health services, we are here to meet immediate needs while building relationships that lead to long-term restoration.
Community
-
We’ve built a culture rooted in love, dignity, and consistency. Our team is trained to build trust, offer support, and help our friends envision life beyond homelessness.
That same intentionality shapes our volunteer culture—through retreats, dinners, and discipleship, we create space for growth, connection, and long-term commitment.
Connection
-
We bridge the gap between those in need and those who can help, believing transformation begins with real connection. Together, we move people from homelessness to homefullness…building emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
Our volunteers and trusted community partners help make this possible, offering services like weekly relief outreach, healthcare, counseling, veterinarian support, housing support, and more, so that no one has to walk this journey alone.
Restoration
-
Our coffee shop Paradeisos helps restore lives by providing employment that offers dignity and healing to a person familiar with homelessness and the hardships of life.
Our restoration program focuses on emotional healing, access to low-barrier jobs, and building relationships that lead to lasting stability.
