Sometimes a phone call can change everything...

This friend asked to remain anonymous, so we’ll simply call him “our friend.”

For years, our friend lived on and off the streets. Because he didn’t fit the stereotype of homelessness and didn’t meet the scoring requirements for subsidized housing, every door seemed to close before it could open.

Even with income, he was denied over and over again. No rental history. Not enough income for approval. Barrier after barrier.

We tried everything. At one point, he moved an hour outside of Nashville to stay with someone, but within a week he was forced to leave and ended up back on the streets.

Then after two long years of searching, a phone call changed everything.

A room opened up in a home where he already had community and trusted friendships. He moved in that same day!

Today, he's no longer sleeping on the streets. He has a home, people around him who care for him, and the support he needs to keep moving forward.

What started as outreach became brotherhood.

Even if you don't know who he is, let’s celebrate this win together!
