The Invisible Crisis

The annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count gives us a crucial snapshot of homelessness in Nashville, and the numbers are a call to action we cannot ignore. The most recent count showed that over 2,094 people are experiencing homelessness in our city.

While the overall count remained challenging, one trend alarms us deeply: the number of people living unsheltered—sleeping on streets, in encampments, or in vehicles—has seen a significant increase. This rise tells us that the crisis is most intensely affecting those with the fewest options, highlighting the profound isolation and danger they face every day.

These are our neighbors who are facing the elements, violence, and profound lack of resources. They are the friends we are actively seeking out through our Street Program. This data fuels our commitment to showing up consistently and intensely until every neighbor has a safe, stable place to call home.
