Volunteer Coordinator & Events Intern
Location: Nashville, TN
People Loving Nashville is an organization providing relief, community, connection, & restoration to the unhoused & most vulnerable of Nashville, Tennessee.
The Volunteer Coordinator & Events Intern will work with the Director of Operations to assist with volunteer coordination, volunteer events, and outreach events and logistics.

The Volunteer Coordinator & Events Intern will work with the Director of Operations to assist with volunteer coordination, volunteer events, and outreach events and logistics.
Responsibilities during the internship will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Keeping volunteer database (paper and electronic) up-to-date and accurate
- Assisting with the organization of regular volunteer training & orientations
- Corresponding with volunteers and prospective volunteers, through email, phone, GroupMe or text messages
- Assist with online sign-up updates, the creation of events, and adding volunteer opportunities to the website.
- Assist with holiday events at outreaches
- Assist with coordinating monthly Volunteer Appreciate Dinner
- Assist with general outreach operations, logistics, and overall coordination & preparation.
Qualifications for the ideal candidate:
- Completed or working toward a college degree in a related field (e.g., hospitality management, event management, nonprofit administration, event human resources management, or other relevant major).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work on a flexible schedule and environment
- Display strong interpersonal skills
- Professional, motivated, self-starter
- Ability to work with indirect supervision in a busy environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Eventbrite, Google Docs & spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
- Ability to quickly learn and process information
- Organization and time management skills
- Minimum of 10 hrs a week
Internship Type:
- Unpaid. Must be eligible to receive course credit to participate in the internship
Time Periods:
- Spring: January - April
- Summer: June - August
- Fall: September - November
