WHO WE ARE People Loving Nashville (PLN) focuses on the healing power of community to bring love and dignity to those who are unhoused or somewhere along their homefulness journey through:
Relief in the form of food, drink, clothing, and emergency supplies
Community through our consistent and growing outreach gatherings
Connection to resources that can offer long-lasting support
Restoration of what has been taken away or never given to start with for the most vulnerable of our city
People Loving Nashville is a faith-based organization with a foundation based on a biblical understanding.
THE ROLE The heart of People Loving Nashville is to love the community we serve in creative and intentional ways. This role will focus on building community among the people we serve and the volunteers who serve alongside the organization. This position will work alongside the organization to equip volunteers with skill sets and practices to teach them how to love the vulnerable in our city according to biblical principles.
We do this through monthly volunteer events where we pause to share a meal and learn about the issues on the streets and how we choose to respond. We also host a yearly volunteer retreat.
You will coordinate holiday events for our outreaches and the volunteers. We couldn’t do our work without our volunteers! Finding ways to support them and continuing to create opportunities for them to get involved is very important to us!
Our outreaches are held both during the day and also in the evenings. Our current outreaches are on Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursday evenings. Your schedule will revolve around those outreaches.
We work with local churches and businesses to give volunteer opportunities to their staff, youth groups, and other small groups. You will host and facilitate opportunities for groups to serve those in need both behind the scenes and on the front lines.
